Kate Bosworth Makes it to Vogue’s Best Dressed at CFDA Fashion Awards

The fashion forward Kate Bosworth looked nothing short of ravishing at this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall in New York City last June 4. She was indeed dressed to impress in an embellished Alzarra ‘Laal’ dress from haute couture designer Joseph Altuzarra who also happened to bag the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in Womenswear. What can I say? The designer chose the right muse just as the muse chose the right designer. Altuzarra on Bosworth and Bosworth in Altuzarra is pure perfection.

It is no ordinary dress, I agree. The  bright orange print was already a stunner on its own. The partially exposed skin in her mid-section made heads turn her way. The most exciting thing about the dress though is the embellished band draped around the hips. First thing in mind: an exotic belly dancer from the Middle East. Layered strings of sequins and medallions jangled to her every movement and demanded full attention.

Bosworth paired the dress with simple velvet ankle-strap pumps designed by Gianvito Rossi for Altuzarra and a black croc leather clutch. Technically, the reptilian texture would have been out of place in this ensemble but heck, when the dress and the muse are way too fabulous, who cares? I am so loving her shoes (if only I could get a pair right now). Bosworth is also devoid of jewelry, save for a thin band on her left hand, a wedding ring I suppose. Light and natural make-up plus a simple hairstyle resulted in an effortless look. Not a surprise she made it to number 1 in Vogue’s 10 Best Dressed at the CFDA Fashion Awards!
