It seems like the sequined dress is fast catching up on style lately, I am seeing many celebrities in sparkly dresses not only on the red carpet but also on casual nights out. Featuring all of them here would take too much space so I refined my choices and ended up with my best three. Here they are and in no particular order.
1. Salma Hayek
Dressed in a long gown the color of her emerald earrings, Salma Hayek literally dazzled on the red carpet during the movie premiere of Savages on June 25 at the Fox Village Theater in Los Angeles. Hayek plays Elena Sanchez (a.k.a Elena La Reina), a co-leader of a Mexican drug cartel. The Oliver Stone production is set to hit movie theaters on July 6.

2. Sheryl Crow
At this year’s Tony Awards in New York City on June 10, Grammy awardee and country crooner Sheryl Crow was a stunner in a royal blue gown with a skin-tone tulle base on the bodice. The effect was amazing! It was actually designed to make it look like the sequins were pasted right on her skin. Crow, a breast cancer survivor, was diagnosed of Meningioma late last year, a common type of brain tumor disease. Luckily enough, it was found benign. There’s no stopping the 50-year old from looking her best!

3. Elizabeth Banks
Yes, I’m an Elizabeth Banks fan. With a challenging role as Effie in the Hunger Games movie, Banks managed to look chic despite the frivolous costumes and exaggerated make-up. Since then, I’ve taken on a particular interest in her. (Not to mention her fabulous outfits during the Hunger Games movie premiere tour!). Below she wears another drop-dead-gorgeous dress at the People Like Us screening in New York City last June 25.

So who’s your favorite lady in sequins? Mine will have to be, you guessed it right, Elizabeth Banks. Do you think we can find dresses like these at a fraction of the price? I hopped on to some online stores and found a couple of cute dresses. Although I didn’t find any green sequined dress but I think the navy color is equally fab. If you have a big event drawing near, consider wearing a sequined dress! I predict a major comeback of the sparkle and shine this year!
