Amanda Seyfried Stuns in Sequins

New York City, June 10, 2012 — The creme de la creme of Hollywood once again graced the annual Tony Awards this year. The Tony is one of the most prestigious awards specifically founded for television industry’s claim to fame. As always, screen and boob tube goddesses strutted their looks on the red carpet and one of those who stood out was Amanda Seyfried.

She chose an embellished sheer purple dress by Givenchy which she accented with a red leather waist belt. The contrast between the 2 colors (purple and red) provided an interesting focal point. In the fashion scene, an unusual combination of materials or colors can very well make or break a design. In this case, Givenchy scored fabulous points.

Up close, the intricate details of the dress remind me of classy vintage styling especially in the mix of gold beads and sequins in Victorian brocade curls. This dress must be inspired by the glamorous women of that era: Catherine Deneuve, Natalie Wood and Brigitte Bardot to name a few. Amanda’s sleek ponytail, crimson lips and gold drop earrings (by Fred Leighton Jewels) are categorically late 60′s fashion. Do you like her look?

Here are two dresses that I really love, both in the nude color that everyone is just raving about and both will look great when accented by a waist belt. Although the use of vibrant, contrasting colors (otherwise known as colorblocking) is still a hot trend right now, I would still choose a nude color as I find it classic, sophisticated and very sensual.
