Every girl needs a sequined piece or two in her wardrobe but not everyone has the guts to pull off a fully sequined, sparkling number. I, for one, have some doubt if I can pull off a sexy, sequined frock without feeling like a disco ball. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised when I came across Emily Blunt’s photos at her movie Salmon Fishing In The Yemen.

Emily Blunt in Carolina Herrera

This black and blue number looks fabulous. I love how the sequins are tucked discreetly under the folds. Emily opted to wear it with a fuss-free hairstyle, some smokey eyes and a nude color on the lips — these highlighted her dress even more. Her red carpet frock looks like a play of ’80s style silhouettes, featuring loose cut out bodices and form fitting skirts. We love the cascading sequined netting detail at the bottom of the skirt as well. It finishes the look nicely, adding a final touch of whimsy to the ensemble.
You might be dying to get your hands on her dress, because we certainly are. Good thing we’ve found great alternatives for us to try out!
