2012 Oscars: Fabulous and Sequined!

I hope you’ve all watched last night’s Oscars! Not only were the awards well deserved but the stars who paraded in style were a total feast for the eyes. Many celebs in the likes of Angelina Jolie deviated from their usual looks and went a bit more adventurous with their picks.

And of course, the red carpet won’t be complete without sequined numbers. We love how the colors and silhouettes of the sequined frocks differed but still looked chic just the same. Here are some of the sequined numbers that caught our fancy:

Ellie Kemper in Armani Privé.

The color of Ellie Kemper’s dress is just so unexpected, we love how it matched her hair without going over the top. She accented her red carpet frock with gorgeous drop earrings. She left her neck unadorned which showed off her graceful neck and  fabulous shoulder bones.

Leslie Mann in Roberto Cavalli

Leslie Mann doesn’t seem to age. The Change Up actress looked elegant in this midnight blue Roberto Cavalli frock. Although we’d prefer if she wore drop earrings that’s a tad bigger than what she’s wearing. A pair of statement earrings would have made elevated her look!

Melissa Leo in Reem Acra

Thumbs up for Melissa Leo for wearing sequins in an unconventional way. We had a little problem with the fit but it would have been remedied by a belt to cinch the waist. Also, she should have done her hair in a loose bun. That would have been stellar.

Rose Byrne in Vivienne Westwood

Everyone went gaga over this look: an asymmetrical bodice and a fluid, fully sequined skirt. It reminds us of a chic Parisian, with a modern twist. Love the bob and blunt bangs as well.

Jane Seymour in Pamella Roland

We like the dress and her styling but she looked frail in this chevron patterned, sequin number by Pamella Roland. So there you go ladies. We hope you’ve enjoyed this year’s Academy Awards as much as we did! Until our next blog, ciao!
