Sequins Galore at the 2012 Golden Globes

Ladies, prepare yourselves for an eye feast! This year’s Golden Globes takes us to a sea of nude, blush, and lavender colored palettes, and of course eye catching sequined couture frocks. Everyone from A listers Madonna, who wore a rather tight fitting sequined bodice dress to starlets such as Lea Michele – who sported a revealing appliqued silver gown.

Here’s some of the sequined dresses that caught our attention:

Madonna in Reem Acra & Andrea Riseborough in Vivienne Westwood

Here’s how to look your age in sequins without trying too hard. Madonna’s bodice looks a size smaller for her but, ladies, if you can rock this at 50, you have all the right to wear it! The architectural draping and emerald color of the gown made an interesting contrast to the silver sequined bodice. On the other hand, Riseborough’s is bordering on medieval bridal gown. Good thing she chose an Old Hollywood hairstyle and bold, red lips that accentuates the dress.

Jessica Alba in Gucci

Jessica Alba paraded in a strapless Gucci gown with sequined appliques. The lavender color with hints of blush worked with her tanned skin. She paired the dress with stunning drop earrings and matching cuffs as well as a lavender purse that spelled elegance.

Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci

Sequins, feathers, and everything opulent, Golden Globes nominee Evan Rachel Wood wowed in a dark green couture creation by Gucci.

Maria Menounos in Blumarine

The Extra host stood out from a sea of green, nude, and lavender dresses in this canary yellow sequined Blumarine dress coupled with a Breakfast in Tiffany inspired updo.

Nicole Richie in Julien Macdonald

Sporting a poufed up ponytail and full bangs, Nicole Richie channeled the ’60s with her fully sequined, sleek Julien Macdonald dress, featuring a subdued geomeric pattern.

Lea Michele in Marchesa

Of course, Lea Michele donned another one of her signature looks – peekaboo dresses – and this time, she chose an appliqued sequined gown in steel by Marchesa, pairing it with a sexy updo, smoky eyes and nude lips for a subdued bombshell effect.

Laura Dern in Andrew GN

Laura Dern looked classy and elegant in this Andrew GN long sleeved dress. A pleasant surprise actually, since we rarely see sequined dresses in this color, much more this length.
